Sitting Alone is a design practice by Joey Swerdlin.
Why sit alone?
Ask Billie Holiday, bell hooks, Benjamin Edgar, or Google.
For me, it’s the primary place I create.
Sitting Alone makes understated statements on ordinary objects.
This website is a platform to showcase creative projects and offer selected objects for sale.
Currently, the chair is the central figure used to instigate a conversation about the profundity of everyday objects. These Ideas are explored through hand-crafted furniture, jewelry, drawings, and print material.
Hand drawing is the foundation of the practice. From there, three dimensional pieces crafted in wood, steel, silver, or gold always attempt to maintain the whimsy of the initiating lines.
